About Us
The Carpenters Shop was started in 1995 by my late husband, Johnny Sykes and myself. We began by building outdoor furniture, Gliders, Swings, Picnic Tables etc. A retired Cabinet Maker, Ron Lane, joined our team which added custom unfinished furniture to our line. When Johnny passed away in 2001 Ron Lane and I continued building furniture. In 2002 Ron passed away as well leaving me with a decision as to what to do with the business.
During the early years we had established friendships with some Amish Manufacturers of outdoor and indoor furniture. I then decided to continue with retailing the Amish built furniture. I changed the name of the business to The Carpenters Country Shop and began incorporating different merchandise such as the Heritage Lace, Quilts and smaller items. Now I also have added items made at The Carpenters Country Shop once more, Country Curtains, Aprons, Table Covers, Chair Covers and various other hand made items.
Over the years we have grown into a very home decor oriented shop with some very unique items not found in most retail shops. We welcome your orders for something different to accommodate your taste and style of living. Our inventory includes Heritage lace, Amish built furniture, Corner Cupboards, small tables, hutches, handmade quilts and oak or pine quilt racks, Custom made lampshade for old fashion oil lamps, custom travel bags, lampshades, holiday lamp shades, door or window stars, chair covers and table toppers.
